The urban tenement house of Franciszek Fiszer at 54 Piotrkowska Street was built around 1876, according to archival documentation and the designs of municipal architect Hilary Majewski. In 1895, the ground floor interiors were remodeled and an additional wing—a three-storey annex along the plot—was added on the southern side. Initially, the annex served as storage space, but it was later adapted for residential purposes. The ground floor of the tenement once housed, among others, the wine and colonial goods store of Maurycy Sprzączkowski, succeeded by Stanisław Jaworski’s delicatessen, which operated in the corner premises until the 1930s.
The property located at 54 Piotrkowska Street / 1 Narutowicza Street has been submitted to the Municipal Revitalization Program (GPR). The program is currently being updated to include submitted projects, and feedback is being collected from external institutions. Including such a project in the Municipal Revitalization Program provides an opportunity to apply for external funding, including funds from a competition announced by the Marshal's Office.
The City Palace of Franciszek Fischer, located at 1 Narutowicza Street, was built in 1889 according to the design of construction technician Karol Edward Kreutzburg, one of the first independently working architects in Łódź. It was added onto a corner tenement house that had been constructed 13 years earlier.
